The Beaver Island Cultural Arts Association (BICAA) was formed in 2006, six years after the first Baroque on Beaver concert was performed in the small log chapel of the St. James Episcopal Church. Because one concert soon expanded into a series, BICAA was incorporated as a 501-c-3 non-profit organization.
BICAA’s mission is to promote, present and encourage participation in all the cultural arts in the Beaver Island community. The Association’s signature event is the annual Baroque on Beaver Festival, which runs over a 10-day span from the last weekend of July through the first weekend of August.
Each year BICAA tries to add new features to the Festival to keep programming fresh, attract and retain top professional musicians while responding to audience requests and community needs. In 2014 the Festival’s classical repertoire was expanded to include Jazz.
